To go Bistro “Choro’s D”, you can turn right on the way to Iikura crossing from Kamiya-cho Station. It’s in the middle of the slope.
I heard about this place from my colleague’s friend.
These nice place are spread by word of mouth!

| Q: How did you decide this unique name “Choro’s D” ? |
A: “Choro” is my old nickname and “D” from Dining. So it means “Choro’s Dining”

| Q: When I first come here, from the location like this hiding behind the main street, I was so excited. Did you intended to choose such a place? |
 A: I was deciding to have my own restaurant sometime but not particular place. During working as chef in other place, I was management consultant at the same time. And I met a person who was a owner of this place used to be his Chinese restaurant who told me to take over this place and that why I am here.
It was a bit early than I was imaging but it was my dream to have my own restaurant!
I remember it was Oct 12th 2000.

Q: I sometimes give up to wait to get seat on weekdays even though after 13:00.
What time is the peak hour for this restaurant? |
A: It’s 12:00 to 12:30 but maybe still is until 13:00 sometimes. Depends on the day. But I am afraid that we don’t take reservation’s for lunch so you may have to wait for those hours.
* They closed on Sat. If you planning a big group party, better ask him in advance.

| Q: What kind of customer coming for lunch? |
A: We have more office people in lunch time.
And have more lady than man, foreigners than native. We also have a lot of single customer as well.

| Q: Which one is the popular menu? Especially lunch menu? |
A: We re-organized our menu recently.
We might change time to time but let me tell you the current one, “Lamb Grille”, “Tender Pork Stew with Plum”, “Tuna Steak with Herbs” are quite popular so even after change the menu, we still keep these dishes.

| Q: Is there any concerns regarding ingredients or menu? |
A: I am putting a lot of effort to make the price reasonable.
We don’t charge our labor fee.
Actually one of our staff’s parents are running fish shop so we carry really good route to have a good quality one and even though sometimes too nice for lunch, we don’t care and go ahead to use them for lunch menu.

| Q: Do you decide every single menu even like a set of “Main dish” and Desert” which we can choose for lunch set? How often do you change your lunch menu? |
A: Yes, I do. We renewed our menu recently but still offering a good deal menu.
As I mentioned, I will keep those popular main dish for customers who looking forward for this menu.

| Q: Are these posters, small interior goods and hand writing of French on the wall have a nice antique taste. Is this to make French Bistro? Who have done this? |
 A: I wrote those hand writing French by myself.
Those posters are the ones I collected during the stay in France including thing I bought in Japan. We decorated by our self. We also re-use corks for decorating around menu board or displayed wine bottles in the wooden box.
Yes, we decorated imaging French bistro.
 When you pay the bill, you even do at your table.

| Q: What was your most memorable thing? |
A: When I realize those customers fond of us and keep coming during dinner time, I try to offer nice dishes beyond the price. Because I am so pleased that I can tell they understand us.

| Q: Why did you decide to open a bistro like this? |
A: I dreamed to have my own restaurant when I worked as hotel or other shop’s chef.
And during my stay in France, I when 2 stars, 3 stars restaurants. Most impressive one among those was casual and reasonable bistro like this. I am aiming casual, can have good quality and tasty food but reasonable place, bistro.

| Q: Do you have any request to lunch time comers? |
 A: We sometimes have to ask to wait during lunch time.
At those time, we are trying to give you a table according to line, but some people try to skip those queue and take a seat by themselves and rushing to order. We want everybody to have good time here so your understanding and courtesy to others would be appreciated. |

- Set menu : 3 course
- Course A: 1,000 yen (Soup, Salad, Main Dish, Bread)
- Course B: 1,350 yen (Soup, Salad, Main dish, Bread, Dessert, Coffee/Tea)
- Course C: 1,500 yen (Today’s Appetizer, Soup, Salad, Main Dish, Bread, Dessert)
Soup and appetizer differs every day.
On Oct 30th, Smoked Salmon and 2 kinds of Ham for appetizer, Cabbage and Bacon Soup for today’s soup. Main dish and the dessert are your choice of:
- Tuna Steak with Herbs with Tapenade sauce
- Deep fried Oyster with Tartar sauce and Italian sauce
- Iberico pork Sautee
- Lamb Grille with Balsamic sauce
- Tender Pork stew with Plum
I tried A course this time. I chose my favorite “Lamb Grille” as main dish. For me B course with dessert was so attractive but I try not to calculating calories…
I waited to be served at the terrace seat. This area is a entrance to high class residential area “Sengoku-yama” named from big family Tajimai-zushi’s Sengoku-yama family’s residence. This quiet and cozy atmosphere is maybe came from this.
Business man were having a meal next table. It is casual but can be seen in fashionable magazines.
  First, I received a decanter with water and a basket with French bread. Next is a Today’s soup with a lot of cabbage and bacon. Light taste of consomme. I almost couldn’t wait for “Lamb Grille with balsamic sauce”!!
 They added a salad after they re-newed menu. A simple salad mixed with pot herb and lettuce comes with dressing mixed olive oil, vinegar, salt&pepper, onion. Main item grilled lamb is on the top of balsamic vinegar and tasty mashed potato. Crispy outside but main part is moistured and thick. I’m always thinking to try other dish but I love this combination and end up to order this one. It’s only 1,000 yen but definitely feel fulfilled.
 If you order coffee together with lunch course, it’s only 200 yen.
It has creamy foam on it and taste mild. Women should love this!

 + ATMOSPHERE
For me the place with terrace is so attractive because I love outdoor.
It is located in the middle of office bldg. so I thought it’s rare to have terrace like this. Once you step inside from the main street, it’s so quiet. The terrace seat is always cozy on the fine day so hard to get this seat in lunch hour. I had a bit late lunch today so luckily given this seat.

On the black board at entrance, you can check the details of lunch menu. You still get menu at your seat but this board menu is more understandable.
Interior has French bistro taste. They have handwriting letter on the wall end windows near entrance. Antique posters and map of Paris are displayed on the wall. I liked the wine bottles and corks are re-used as interior as well.
I could feel full of staff’s spirit “Provide good foods with reasonable prices casually”.
And of course don’t forget to stop by our Azabu Interior show room after that!!
