Many hotels and antique shops can also be found here.

In the Old Akasaka district, the land historically owned by the feudal lords now stand as Akasaka Goyochi, a vast residential place dedicated for the imperial families, and where social parties are frequently hosted by the Emperor.

Areas within proximity to Akasaka include Aoyama, Roppongi, and Tokyo Midtown, the massive multi-use development consisting of hotels, residences, office spaces, cultural facilities, hotels, and parks. Some of the noteworthy landmarks are the Ritz Carlton Tokyo, a Terence Conran restaurant, and "21_21DESIGN SIGHT", a unique art & design museum co-created by Issey Miyake Cultural Foundation and the architect Tadao Ando.

Located to the west of Midtown, the National Art Center, designed by the world renowned architect Kisho Kurokawa, sells many artistically refined goods created in collaboration by artists from around the world. Within the facility, there are also restaurants and famous cafes, providing a space for relaxation and art appreciation perfect for off-days.
