PMMA+Wood Dining Table

Wisteria Trellis was designed with the image of a wisteria trellis. The tableware placed on the table casts various shadows on the floor, giving the impression of a wisteria trellis swaying in the sunlight. The legs that support the thick, light-transmitting tabletop are a beautiful structure. The 25mm highly transparent acrylic resin of the tabletop is made of high-quality material that is also used in aquariums, and is so transparent that you can see through the edge of the wood. The transmittance of acrylic resin is 93%, which is different from the 90% transmittance of glass and 85% of polycarbonate.

To allow the thick acrylic top to expand and contract, the short ends of the acrylic top are left free. The long sides are tapered and are designed to be dropped into the side frames, which are made of joined thick white ash boards. These are supported by L-shaped legs, also made of white ash as the side frames. The tapered shape, which becomes narrower as it goes down and shorter at the side that touches the ground, is not only aesthetically pleasing, but was also created for structural reasons to reduce the shaking of the heavy top, and also has a practical side, as it prevents your toes from hitting the table when standing next to it. The fixing points of the legs can be moved in four stages (80mm each) to suit the situation in which you use the table.
