Captivated by the beauty of indirect light, Frank Lloyd Wright designed a pendant light—composed of wooden boxes and light-shielding panels—for the theater at Taliesin, his home and studio in Wisconsin. He subsequently adapted this design, creating variations that resembled luminous sculptures, for a wide range of spaces. In 1994, YAMAGIWA entered into an exclusive licensing agreement to manufacture and sell these fixtures, bringing twelve of the original designs back into production. Taliesin 2 is one of these twelve reissued models; Wright was particularly fond of this design and used it in his own study.
